Opening nearly 4 years ago in the back streets of Swinton, ‘That Burger Place’ has seen impressive growth and demand for their loaded burgers and fries, and they’ve now launched their own celebrity cooking show – “That burger show”.

Special guests include Bez of Happy Mondays, Love Island power couple Molly Smith and Callum Jones, 80s legend Pat Sharp and Corrie star Ellie Leach.

Each week, owner Ryan is joined in the kitchen with a special guest who brings with him an ingredient that Ryan knows nothing about. They then use this ingredient to make the burger of their dreams. Ryan also tests their palette with a blind taste test!

Once the guest’s dream burger is built, it will then go on sale for a week via Good Eats and the most popular burger will go on the menu full time, crowning someone king or queen of the kitchen!

Ryan from Swinton, Salford, came up with the idea after hosting live kitchens during lockdown.

“I was selling DIY burger kits through Instagram for our customers to cook our burgers at home. I decided to do live cookouts to show our customers different techniques and ways of cooking burgers. The live shows proved to be very popular and I designed the format for That Burger Show and pitched it to Good Eats, our POS provider, they loved it and agreed to sponsor the show.

“As a chef, I love watching cooking shows, especially anything about Chef Ramsay, who is a big influence, and I’ve always loved movies too, so the idea of combining those two passions was really exciting. I think cooking can bring people together, especially families and if you can inspire someone to cook with a show like this, that would be amazing.

This Burger Place has stores in Walkden and Swinton with a third store due to open early next year. The brand is so popular that everyone who stars in the series was already a customer.

“We’ve been lucky the past few years to have some pretty high-profile clients, so it was great to approach them and ask them to do the show and they all said yes. Each guest has a brilliant and hopefully inspirational story.

In addition to the biggest names, Ryan has invited local guests to the show such as Little Blonde Bakes owner Fran Harrison, Radio X presenter Adam Brown and The Manc Eats frontman Joe McGrath.

“I wanted to work with people who are down to earth, local and successful in achieving something whether it’s baking, presentation, fashion or music and I hope their successes can inspire future creatives. and contractors.”

Bez, a member of Happy Mondays, surprised Ryan with his cooking skills: “He’s actually a very talented chef and he knew so much about all types of cuisines. We also do something called the blind taste test on the show and no spoilers, but he absolutely passed it.

When asked what we can expect from the show, Ryan promises a good laugh: “It doesn’t take itself too seriously and it’s something easy to watch and hopefully something inspiring. , not only of the kitchen but also of the guests and their stories. I’m really proud of all the episodes and they all went so well. I think you can say we all have a great time when we’re filming.
