TV icon Lillian Dube to co-host new cooking show – The Citizen



Actress and TV icon Dr Lillian Dube is adding another title to her illustrious career as co-host of a long-awaited cooking show on DStv.

Honey TV announced on Monday that the cooking reality show 7 colorsproclaiming that it will be Africa’s greatest cooking show, will soon hit South African screens.

The show is inspired by South African favorite dishes called Seven Colors which are usually prepared on Sundays or on special occasions. The two celebrity hosts, Dube and Moshe Ndiki will go deep into South African homes to see how people really do their Sunday cos.

In each episode, families, friends and loved ones will show off their cooking skills and be judged on the dish they cook as well as the execution of their favorite local and homemade dishes.

Dube, who appeared on Soul City, mourn my beloved country and a few of Leon Schuster’s movies are excited about this new show.

“I love walking into people’s homes, interacting with them and seeing what their plates look like,” she said in a statement, adding that her favorite moments were on set with media personality and comedian Ndiki.

His hosting skills have earned him great notoriety on shows such as Uyang’thanda Na? and You promised to marry me. Ndiki’s sense of humor, hard-hitting lines and contagious laughter are likely to bring many smiles to the faces of viewers.

“Not only do I work with Lillian Dube, [but] I also got the experience of meeting the different competitors and seeing how excited we all get when we shoot,” he said.

Ndiki ventured into the food industry, launching his own line of spices in April 2021, called Moshe’s Kitchen.

According to Zinzi Velelo, Content Manager of Honey TV 7 colors will showcase the best of South African culture and the show is ‘casual’ and will bring joy to our screens.

7 colors Premiere on Thursday February 17 at 4:30 p.m. on the DStv 173 channel.
