Food Network and Netflix star Alton Brown is heading to upstate New York later this year as part of his “Beyond The Eats” tour. And maybe he’ll reconcile his beef with buffalo wings once and for all.
“Alton Brown Live: Beyond The Eats” will stop in Utica, NY at the Stanley Theater on Tuesday, November 22. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on July 29 and can be purchased through Ticketmaster or by calling The Stanley Theater Box Office at 315-724-4000.
Audiences can expect more cooking, more comedy, more music, and “more potentially dangerous science stuff.” Get ready for an experience like no other and if Brown is calling for volunteers, he says to “think twice.”
Earlier this year, Brown took to social media and admitted “I was wrong, the best wings are in Buffalo.” This came after some harsh criticism in a 2018 episode of First We Feast’s “Hot Ones.” In that episode, Brown said, “If you really want good Buffalo chicken wings…you don’t go to Buffalo.”
After visiting The Queen City for a performance in April, he hit the streets of Buffalo with two “wingers”: Nate Geary of WGR 550 and Buffalo News editor Andrew Galarneau. They stopped at La Nova, Elmo’s Bar and Restaurant, and Bar-Bill Tavern in East Aurora.
Brown posted photos on social media of the day’s sassy contenders and said, “I was mostly tutored on #BuffaloWings today by local pundits including Andrew Galarneau. I can say I had the best buffalo wing of my life and yes it was in Buffalo. #Now I know.”
With his upcoming visit to the Mohawk Valley, will Brown be on the hunt for the best tomato pie or chicken riggies? Only time will tell.
